Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Kayza Furniture website and the purchase of products from Kayza Furniture ("Kayza", "we", "us", "our").

By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. About Kayza

Kayza Furniture is an online furniture retailer offering furniture, home décor and related products to customers in South Africa.

Our products may be:

  • manufactured by Kayza;
  • manufactured by third-party suppliers;
  • sourced from local suppliers; or
  • made or ordered specifically according to a customer's requirements.

We aim to provide accurate product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, colours and pricing. However, minor variations may occur due to manufacturing processes, lighting, photography, screens and natural material characteristics.

2. Product Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product information displayed on our website is accurate and current.

Product images are provided for illustration and may differ slightly from the physical product due to:

  • screen settings;
  • lighting;
  • photography;
  • manufacturing variations;
  • fabric batches;
  • natural materials; and
  • reasonable colour variations.

Where dimensions are provided, customers should carefully check the dimensions before ordering.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the product will fit through doors, passages, stairways, lifts and other access points at the delivery address.

If you are unsure whether a product will fit, contact Kayza before placing your order.

3. Prices

All prices displayed on the website are in South African Rand (ZAR).

Unless expressly stated otherwise, product prices exclude delivery charges.

Kayza reserves the right to change prices at any time before an order is accepted.

Once an order has been accepted and payment has been received, the applicable agreed price will generally apply, subject to correction of obvious pricing errors and applicable law.

4. Orders

When you place an order through the website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products.

An order is only considered accepted once Kayza has:

  • received the order;
  • received or confirmed payment; and
  • issued an order confirmation.

Kayza reserves the right to decline or cancel an order where:

  • a product is unavailable;
  • there is an obvious pricing or listing error;
  • payment cannot be verified;
  • there is suspected fraudulent activity;
  • the order cannot reasonably be fulfilled; or
  • circumstances outside Kayza's reasonable control prevent fulfilment.

If Kayza cancels an order after payment has been received, any refund due will be processed in accordance with applicable law.

5. Payment

Kayza may offer various payment methods, including card payments, electronic payments and other payment providers made available through the website.

Payment is required before an order is processed unless Kayza expressly agrees otherwise.

Kayza does not store complete card information where payments are processed through third-party payment providers.

Customers must ensure that all payment information supplied is accurate.

6. Delivery

Kayza delivers to areas within South Africa where delivery services are available.

Delivery charges and estimated delivery times will be communicated during the ordering process or otherwise before the order is finalised.

Delivery times may vary depending on:

  • stock availability;
  • product type;
  • manufacturing lead times;
  • delivery location;
  • courier availability;
  • third-party logistics providers; and
  • circumstances outside Kayza's reasonable control.

Estimated delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed delivery dates unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Customers must provide an accurate delivery address and contact information.

7. Delivery Access

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the delivery team can reasonably access the delivery location.

This includes checking:

  • door widths;
  • gate access;
  • stairways;
  • lifts;
  • passageways;
  • parking access; and
  • other restrictions.

Additional delivery charges may apply where a special delivery arrangement is requested or required.

Where delivery cannot reasonably be completed because the customer provided incorrect information or the property is inaccessible, Kayza may charge reasonable additional delivery costs.

8. Inspection on Delivery

Customers should inspect products as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If a product appears damaged on delivery, the customer should:

  • photograph the product;
  • photograph the packaging;
  • notify Kayza as soon as possible; and
  • provide the order number and relevant photographs.

This helps Kayza investigate and resolve delivery or product issues quickly.

Nothing in this section limits any rights the consumer has under applicable South African consumer law.

9. Change-of-Mind Returns and Exchanges

Kayza wants customers to be happy with their furniture.

Where a customer simply changes their mind about a product, Kayza may offer an exchange, subject to the conditions below.

A change-of-mind exchange may be considered where:

  • the product is unused;
  • the product has not been damaged;
  • the product has not been altered;
  • the product remains in substantially the same condition in which it was supplied;
  • the product has not been assembled or permanently installed where doing so affects its condition or resaleability;
  • the product is suitable for resale; and
  • the customer provides proof of purchase.

Where Kayza accepts a change-of-mind return, the customer's preferred remedy will generally be an exchange for another Kayza product. The replacement product may be a similar product or another product of the same value.

If the replacement product is more expensive, the customer may be required to pay the difference. If the replacement product is cheaper, Kayza may apply the difference as a store credit or otherwise deal with it in accordance with the agreed exchange arrangement.

Change-of-mind returns do not automatically qualify for a cash refund. This policy is intended to provide an exchange option for customers who have simply changed their mind while protecting the condition and resale value of furniture. This change-of-mind policy does not limit or exclude any statutory consumer rights that may apply.

South African consumer law recognises specific circumstances in which consumers can return goods and receive a refund, including qualifying defective goods and certain distance/electronic transactions.

10. Condition of Returned Products

A product returned for an eligible change-of-mind exchange must be returned in substantially the same condition in which it was supplied.

Kayza may decline a change-of-mind exchange where the product has:

  • stains;
  • tears;
  • scratches;
  • marks;
  • excessive wear;
  • missing components;
  • missing accessories;
  • damage caused by the customer;
  • unauthorised modifications;
  • incorrect assembly;
  • misuse;
  • exposure to unsuitable conditions; or
  • any other condition that materially reduces its resale value.

Kayza may request photographs or inspect the product before approving an exchange.

11. Defective or Damaged Products

This section is separate from a change-of-mind exchange.

Where a product is defective, unsafe, materially damaged or otherwise does not comply with applicable consumer-law requirements, Kayza will provide the remedy required by applicable law.

South Africa's Consumer Protection Act provides an implied warranty of quality, including protection for qualifying defective goods for six months after delivery. Depending on the circumstances, the consumer may have the right to require repair, replacement or a refund.

If the damage or defect is Kayza's responsibility, Kayza will first seek to: (1) repair the product where appropriate; or (2) replace the product with the same or an equivalent product; or (3) where replacement is not reasonably possible and a refund is legally required, provide the applicable refund.

Where a qualifying defective product cannot be repaired or replaced and applicable law gives the consumer a right to a refund, Kayza will process the refund accordingly. Kayza will not attempt to use this policy to remove or restrict rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Damage Caused by the Customer

Products damaged after delivery through customer misuse, negligence, incorrect assembly, unauthorised alteration or other conduct outside Kayza's responsibility may not qualify as defective goods. This does not affect statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Wrong Product Supplied

If Kayza supplies a product that is materially different from the product ordered, please contact us as soon as possible. After verification, Kayza will arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include collection, replacement with the correct product, or another remedy required by applicable law.

14. Missing or Damaged Parts

If a product is delivered with missing components or parts, please contact Kayza. Where reasonably possible, Kayza may provide the missing part instead of replacing the entire product.

15. Custom or Made-to-Order Products

Certain products may be manufactured, configured or ordered specifically for a customer. These products may have different cancellation, return or exchange conditions because they may not be suitable for resale. Any applicable conditions will be communicated to the customer before the order is confirmed. Nothing in this section excludes statutory rights that apply to defective or non-conforming goods.

16. Promotional and Sale Items

Promotional products remain subject to the same applicable consumer protections as other products. Additional promotional conditions may apply where clearly communicated before purchase. A promotional price does not remove statutory consumer rights.

17. Refund Policy

Kayza's preferred remedy for a genuine change of mind is an exchange rather than a cash refund. However, this does not mean that Kayza can refuse a refund where South African law requires one.

Refunds may therefore apply where:

  • the law gives the customer a refund right;
  • the product qualifies as defective and the applicable remedy is a refund;
  • Kayza cannot reasonably repair or replace a qualifying defective product where the customer is legally entitled to a refund;
  • Kayza has incorrectly charged the customer;
  • Kayza cancels an accepted order after receiving payment; or
  • another circumstance requiring a refund applies.

Refunds will generally be processed back to the original payment method where practicable. Processing times may depend on the payment provider and customer's bank.

18. Cooling-Off and Online Purchases

Certain consumer rights apply specifically to electronic transactions and distance selling. Where applicable, customers may have statutory cancellation rights, including the cooling-off rights provided under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Kayza will comply with applicable statutory requirements. This means Kayza's internal exchange policy should not be written as though it overrides statutory cooling-off rights.

19. Warranties

Products are covered by applicable statutory warranties and any additional manufacturer's or Kayza warranty expressly provided with the product. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits an implied warranty or consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Product Care

Customers should follow the care and maintenance instructions supplied with their product. Failure to follow reasonable care instructions may affect the condition of the product and may affect whether damage is attributable to a manufacturing defect or customer use.

21. Website Use

Customers may use the Kayza website for lawful purposes only. Users may not: interfere with the website; attempt unauthorised access; introduce malicious software; copy or exploit website content without permission; impersonate another person; or use the website for fraudulent purposes.

22. Intellectual Property

Kayza's name, logos, product names, photographs, graphics, website design, text, videos, software, product descriptions and other original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. They may not be copied, reproduced or commercially exploited without Kayza's permission, except where permitted by law.

23. Reviews and Customer Content

Customers may be invited to submit reviews, photographs, videos, testimonials and other content. By submitting content to Kayza, the customer grants Kayza permission to use that content for marketing and promotional purposes, subject to applicable law and the terms communicated when the content is submitted. Kayza will not falsely represent a customer's views or materially alter a testimonial in a misleading manner.

24. Third-Party Services

Kayza may use third-party providers for payments, delivery, communications, analytics, hosting, marketing, customer support and other services. Where appropriate, these providers may process information necessary to perform their services.

25. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law. Subject to applicable law, Kayza will not be liable for indirect losses arising from circumstances outside Kayza's reasonable control.

26. Force Majeure

Kayza will not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances reasonably outside its control, including natural disasters, strikes, transport disruptions, supplier failures, infrastructure failures, power outages, internet outages, government restrictions, civil unrest, or other extraordinary circumstances. Kayza will nevertheless make reasonable efforts to communicate significant delays.

27. Complaints

Customers should first contact Kayza so that we can attempt to resolve the issue. Please provide your order number, name, contact information, description of the issue, and photographs or supporting information where relevant. Kayza will investigate complaints fairly and in accordance with applicable law.

28. Changes to These Terms

Kayza may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will be published on the website. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that have already accrued to a consumer under applicable law.

29. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions prevents a consumer from exercising rights available under South African consumer-protection legislation.
